For those that want a center grille guard without the full-on brush-guard look (sans headlight grilles and full grille coverage): I just received my WAAG Sportster today. Pic at (if I can do the link stuff correctly!?!): www.overlander.com/pages_misc/contents_fr.tpl?cart=312231630517133(Didn't quite work...click on Products Listed by Vehicle and follow from there) Will be installing tomorrow; I estimate about 20-30 minutes, plus or minus beer time. Will let those that are interested know about how it went. Cheers, Stod

Install took about 45 minutes (me and a buddy, two beers each). Very straight forward, no removal of skid plate. The WAAG is nicely put together, even includes gaskets for mounting the side brackets to the guard. One wishlist item would be for WAAG to include two plugs for the pre-drilled light holes, if the choice is made to not install the lights. One caveat: you loose the use of the right tow bracket; the left tow hook use might be lost, also. Will see if I can get a strap around it tomorrow.
Weight is about 30 lbs, dropped front end about 1/8 of an inch.
Took the time to also satin-black paint over the rear MITSUBISHI lettering on the hatch (I felt it looked "a little busy") - visually seems to make the MS look a tad wider.
Cheers, Stod

Hey....New member here... 2002 MS (NOBODY makes any goodies for the 02) Email me a pic of the bars. They looked pretty good. I posted a question about lifting my 02 and getting new tires...any pics of the tires you're running... Lemme know if you have any ideas on the lift.....Ben

Hi Ben,
You should be able to find some after-market stuff for your MS '02, listed on sites such as:
'overlander.com', 'yakima.com', 'urbanjunglesuv.com', other than that, you are right...not much available.
Haven't posted any pictures yet on tires or grille guard yet, hopefully soon. You can get a view of the tires (Goodrich AT/KOs 265x75R16) at 'tirerack.com'...BTW, GREAT tires - onroad and offroad - NO lift required for tires this size.
Cheers, Stod

Hi Ben, Try www.jaosusa.com. Dont try to go through project vehicles. Instead look for individual items. Like Bullbar for 2000-2002 Montero Sport. Regarding lifting, the only difficulty is that you have to buy a complete kit for the rear wheels due to new system. The front is the same as the older MS, you can do it by turning the torsion bars.
