basicaly my question is, should i atempt this or sit back and wish i bought her with 4wd??

You are asking for trouble.
You have a heavy SUV with 2wd. Which is actually only 1wd.
If you get stuck, chances are you are going to have a very difficult time getting unstuck.

..I thought you weren't having fun UNTIL you were stuck, think how much more fun you can have 2wd! You will need a good CB though (with real antenna), to meet interesting people who will sometimes help you to get back home, and sometimes share a beer and offer points on how you could have gotten stuck more creatively. Be smart, lash down a couple hundred pounds in the rear (beer can be very helpful as above), air down your rear tires, allow no Volvo to pass.
As for the show circuit, the smallest branch is your biggest enemy!

Go have some fun! I drove my 2WD XLS on an 800 acre construction site with no roads for nearly 18 months. I've got the dents in the skid plates to prove it. Everybody on the site thought it had 4WD and was amazed at the places it would go. Just drive smart and make sure somebody is nearby to pull you out if you need help. (One of the advantages of being on a construction site - there are always bulldozers available)

well it turns out the spot here in town that my crew runs is a small dirt trail that starts as a street, that turns unpaved then into a field, that continues...went out last night and it was dry, and still got nice and dusty with a small bit of mud caked in the wheel wells. going back tonight since it rained all day...i will get pics and send em ur way asap. i also dont care if the paint gets scratched bc if i go full show and see that many scratches, i will get he ms repainted custom to my style and continue building accourdingly. thatnx all for ur answers. also i never will go offroad alone, there will always be other vehicles there, just in case
again thanx -m

It's no fun cleaning a muddy MS. It usually takes me about three hours to wash mine after I've had it in the mud.
