Well after two years of having probably the lowest sport around ( 7 inch drop) i finally lifted my 02 Sport back up...with Old Man Emu 2in lift springs and a torsion lift...so it went up 9 inches in suspension and to 33 in tires in one day....what a difference... Anyway a change in hobbies prometed the drastic mesures ( I started Racing MX pretty heavy)...I was wondering if there were any other lockers out there for the MS besides the ARB Air locker. I would like a mechanical locker for the rear since its only 2wd and i spend most of my time in the sand or loose dirt, not rock crawling. I really need the extra traction in the Dunes, but do not want to invest in the ARB....any help?? i did a search on this site trying to find one, but i couldn't...hopefully i am not beating a previously posted thread to death....thanks for your help in advance...

Yes the ARB is the only one besides the stock Mitsu locker, and I was told by a Mitsu Tech that I would have to change the whole rear end out to get the stock locker and it was $2000 for the new rear end with a locker.

no plans at all, only ARB.
ARB is the strongest locker on the market, and for running high RPMs which you'll have to do in the sand with only 2WD, I'd want the stronger carrier.
Go with the ARB.
It will have better street manners too, as you can turn it off.
Also, you'll want to air down your tires WAY WAY low for running in the sand. The ARB air compressor will be able to air your tires back up when you're ready to head home.

Ox Locker? makes a cable actuated locker for the MS, or at least a friend of mine swears. I have never seen a listing for it. Could be a "universal" piece. But I agree, the ARB is probably the strongest on the market.

I've only seen OX Lockers for Domestics.

OX is not really around anymore.
Remember one of the big expenses when going to a locker is the installation...setting gears takes time. So even if you could get a detroit or another brand you'd still pay the same for setup (from $400 and up...) May as well go with the ARB as you can shut it off. Wheeling on sidehills in a low traction situation and a locked rear can get spooky.
