Hoping that some can give me some advice for buidling some rock sliders. I have looked at skidplates sliders and the ones made by rocksliderz, as wells as some at 4x4exterem sports. They all look great except I like to build stuff myself.
I am just wondering some basic measurements. I will be using 2" square tubing. 3/16" thick directly under the body seam. Then a few inches out from the door will be a second 2" square tubing 1/4" thick. I wondering about this measurement.
Anyone who has bought or build sliders will you please give me a measurement from either the body seam under the door and/or from the frame to the outside bar. The frame is not stragiht so a measurement from the seam woudl be the best.
One other questions how many bars to attatch to the frame? 2 or 3? Where would you attach them?
Now the skid plate: 1/4 Aluminum. If you can give me a dimension of the overall plate size then I can figure out where to drill hoels to atatch it.
Oh and I have a '98 MS XLS Auto 3.0L. No mods yet, but you will be seeing a lot of questions and mods to come in other threads....
