Hello, My pajero/montero sport 3.0 is equiped with LPG system in Belgium as alternative energy (cheaper, 1/3 price). The installation costs is about 3500 euros. There is a regular service (about twice a year) especially to clean filters. A we talking about the same thing ? I didn't know you have LPG system in USA. Have a nice day.

Hello. Happy to be back on the forum. LPG = liquefied petroleum gas En français: gaz de pétrole liquéfié.<br>= alternative energy with no pollution except for CO2. There are some stations of GPL in France, Belgium and Holland. The price is about 0.3 euro for one liter instead 1.0 euro for one liter traditionnel fuel (benzine, essence). I have a additive tank (bonbonne) at the place of the spare wheel. There is absolutely no differences running the car except the consumption little higher. The LPG seems to be to "dry" for the valves, so I need additive lubricating system with a special oil (the name is flash lube) in admission collector. The price of the installation with tank and injection system is high, about 4000 euros = 4000 dollars. Have a nice day.

Yes, but they are few and far between.
Mainly fleet vehicles, city busses, police and emergency vehicles, city vehicles, state transportation vehicles, etc.
On personal vehicles? no, maybe one in every 100,000 vehicles is.
Unleaded Gasoline is only $1.80/gallon (40 cents/liter) US here, or around $2.20/gallon (56 cents/liter) Canadian, or about .9ish British pounds for a US gallon.
Those figures are quite loose in exchange rates, but the over all idea is that gas is DIRT CHEAP here in the states. Diesel gasoline is a good .20~.40 cents cheaper in places than normal unleaded.
