I just bought a Montero Sport LS 2000 3.0 V6 ;D I used to drive a 2000 Eclipse GS, when driving my MS I noticed on turns I feel like I might tip....are there any mods I can do to help with this or is this to be expected switching to an SUV? Also, what are the mods that people perfer to do first? (ie. intake, catback) Lastly, where would I go to get a good deal on accessories.....cargo mat and net, cargo cover, bug guard, mud flaps.....these kinds of things? Thanks for the help in advance. Christie, I used to drive a sports car and then switched to an SUV. This is a driver characteristic that you are going to have to change. You can't drive it like a car. I had a friend that told me that a week after I got my SUV. You have to take it easy in the corners because it doesn't handle like the eclipse. As for mods, I put the injen intake on my 1999 LS first and then started with the 4x4 mods. But if you are just driving in town, do the intake and the cat-back exhaust. That'll give you some more power. Go to overlander.com for accessories. They have the best selection for Montero Sports that I'm aware of. I placed my first order from there last week and so far they seem to be pretty good. The cargo liner I have was the old cargo liner from my S-10 that I cut down to size. If you can find an old truck bed mat, you can always cut it down to fit in the back of your MS. Also I posted some links on my website to some OEM dealers that I found for the bug shields and such. www.celesteandtodd.com/montero/links.phpI hope that helps! Todd

Christie,
You'll need to do some research on the intake. I'm not sure if the Injen will fit the 2000 models. You may have to go with the HKS one. You should be able to find it at Overlander.com. I bought my Injen from a local store that I have ordered from in the past. They usually cut me a better deal than what I get on the internet. As for the cat-back exhaust. I've never ordered anything that major for my truck sight-unseen. Personally, I'd head over to your local 4x4 shop or maybe to a custom car shop that can show you some examples of systems they can get. Get the prices/part numbers then go shopping on-line. You may find that buying at you local shop will be less than getting them on-line because of the shipping charges. I was going to have a custom exhaust put on my MS by a shop here in town. It's up to you though. I think HKS makes a cat-back system, you can look over at overlander.com for that too. Do your research and you should be able to find the right system. BTW, overlander is top knotch. I ordered my weathershields from them and they shipped the same day. I received them yesterday, putting them on tonight!
