anyone had a leaf break in their rear leaf springs? One of mine broke and I have some Old Man Emu springs on order from Overlander. Anyone running these springs? How are they? Are you running them with the toyota shackles? just wondering how this will work together with the extended shackles....

Squam1,
Were you playing Evel Knievel in the MS? Just kidding! I think the OME leaf springs are extended springs right? You should get 1 inch lift from them + 2 inches out of the shackles. You may have to crank the torsion bars to even it out but I would think it would work. I wouldn't know for sure but but I would think you'd be okay. How did you break one anyway? Just so I don't go out and do the same thing!

according to the service manager at nashua mitsubishi in nashua, nh - the sport's springs are prone to failure around 70-80k miles. I don't know how common it is, but I have heard and read that this is not uncommon.
As for what I did to break it... good question - I have no idea when it happened and I've only done some very light offroading. Nothing that would tweak a spring so badly that one of the leaves would snap...
