I have these bulbs in my truck and I love them. I would like to put some in my wife's 1997 Montero Sport. Does Sylvania make the Silverstars for the Montero Sports? If so, is anyone using them? I never got a chance to check the manual but what is the number for headlight bulbs?
Thanks, Blake

I think you can use either H3 or 9003..... Its the bulbs that have the metal ring with the 3 points on them.

I'm pretty sure that these are correct.
97-99 Montero Sport: H4 - Headlights H3 - Fog Light
00-04 Montero Sport: 9007 - Headlights H3 - Fog Light

Does anyone know of any 7443 Silverstars, or some 7443s that come close to matching the Silverstars? Super or hyper whites? Thanks! Erwin

are they all the same color? are these the ones you guys have: store.summitracing.com/defau...=SYL-1157AST-BP they have clear bulbs and I have seen others that have a blue tint around them, how are they different? also how long are these expected to last? edit- the site's being stupid, you have to search 'silverstar' and its the 2nd one on the list, SYL-9003ST-2

Silverstars are great, had them on my wifes Ford, and my Saturn and recently on my Monty. I did try the new GE Nighthawks on my Saturn, seems a little brighter and whiter than the Silverstars and you know what? There is NO blue tint on them either, interesting.

Where did you buy the GE Nighthawks? www.danielsternlighting.com explains why bulbs with clear lenses are brighter. I got the Silverstars and they are bright. But according to Stern, it doens't really help you "see" better because of the lens tint. Any tint robs you of some color that the human eye needs to see at night. He recommended the Tungsram Megalight but I opted to buy the silverstars from Wal Mart. At that time, I didn't want to wait and didn't have the patience to wait for the delivery guy. Now I want to see the difference between those bulbs.

Now I want to see the difference between those bulbs. I thought all WalMarts carried them recently, but amongst the 4 WalMarts that are close to me, only 1 carries the Nighthawks. Average price of the Silverstars are about $34.xx while the Nighthawks run about $25-27.xx. I've read Daniel Sterns site, it's a great site plus I used his article as a guide to make the sidemarkers on my Saturn blink like turnsignals. Here is a pic of the GE Nighthawks. Sorry I was in my garage so my engine was not running. This is with the headlights on with battery power. As you can see, you don't see the yellow like you see on OEM halogen bulbs. [/url]
