Does anyone know what the mileage warranty on the stock yokohama geolander (02 MS XLS) is? Are they rated for up to 50,000 or 60,000 mile tread wear and for those with this tire what has been the mileage and number of months you've gotten out of these tires b/f replacing them. Thanks!

Don't have a clue how long they're supposed to last, but my wife only got a little over 19000 miles out of the set that came on the truck.

I just racked up 63K om my 2001XLS. The wear marks are level with the tread so it is time to get some new rubber. ;D I plan to stick with the Yokohamas but if someone has a comparable suggestion I would appreciate it.

I got 25K out of the stock Yokos. The Geolanders are basically worthless ... everytime it rained I wished they would wear out sooner so I could get something that made me feel safe. Plus the sidewalls are so soft I would get dizzy from rocking back and forth everytime I turned out of the driveway!!!
Replaced them with BFG AT/KOs. These are great. I will probably get 50K+ out of them (I'm at 29K, now).
Cheers, Stod

lol, true, it is old.
The way our Yoko's were wearing at 3K miles, they would have maybe gone 15K~20K.
I replaced them at 3K with 265/75R16 Michelin LTX A/T tires and now have 45K miles on the vehicle. 42K miles and I still have about 40% tread left. I'll probably get new tires in about 1.5 years, around 60K miles.

The OEM tires do not have a mileage warranty: www.tirerack.com/tires/Warranty.jsp?make=Yokohama&model=Geolandar+H%2FT+G039&vehicleSearch=true&fromCompare1=yes&partnum=57SR6GEOHTbut I do remember one of the pamphlets that came with my 03 is the tire warranty info. If I remember correctly, there is a 1 year warranty from defects. As of right now, I have 18k miles on them and the tread looks great. I've probably have done around 10k city driving (Houston and around) and about 8k hwy. So far, I have only used about 2/32" of the tread. I have plenty left....so I dont know how some of you guys wear out the WHOLE freakin tire in under 20k. Keep em balanced and rotated and drive under 90

I did! They still stunk! one developed a bubble in the sidewall in 100 miles. I honestly did not hit a thing! It just happened. Dealership replaced the tire free as they didn't see a scuff mark, nothing! This was a REALLY BIG bubble too, so they said it would have left a permanent mark if I had hit something. Our Michelin's? I've abused the SNOT out of them. I've only rotated them 3 times in 40,000miles+ And we are talking a 4 tire rotation, even though I have a matching full size spare.

Yoko GO39s
I got 53,755 miles before replacing this past weekend...I still had another 5k miles left on them, just wanted to get into a new set before the winter weather hits (I live on a hillside development). Yokos were ok, just a little spongey on the drive handling...
I replaced with the Bridgestone Dueler A/T REVOs(highest rating from Tirerack.com).
So far the ride is tremendous...Very steady, good grip in NW rain, quite ride...Bring on the snow!!
Thx, LPS

I bought my truck used at 36k and the geolanders that it had where basically gone. When I went to replace them I really wanted Michelins but did not have the cash so I replaced with the same. With rotations and balance done free at Discount tire I am at 75k and they look like new. I do agree that the traction in the rear in wet climate sucks but next time I am going to go with ones similar to Stods. But I usually drive between 90mph-100mph so I dunno how that is going to effect the truck.
