I am new on this board and new to offroading with 4wd. My other car is a 77 dodge van (2wd)with a homemade lift kit that i drive into Mexico to do fishing. I bought a montero sport and will have to drive my new car down there for the break in. The stock tire it has by geolander simply sucks and i seem to get stuck in the sand. My question is a simple one what is the largest tire I can safely put in my truck keeping the same rims? I read somewhere that I could put 30x9.5 or 31x10.5 does anyone have experience with this size tire? I will go with BFG A/T because I run my van with them and I have never had a problem. Any suggestions would be greatly appriciated. I will be leaving to my Baja trip on July and will be gone for the month returning on the 2, please advise before then. If you would like to shot me an email directly i'm @ gustavo_goytia@countrywide.com. Thanks for the help in advance

A 265/75R16 will fit assuming you have 16" rims. You might have to slightly crank the front torsion bars to lift the front up to 1" more. Not a big deal.
Otherwise, a 31"x10.5" equivalent tire will fit. I think in metric it is a 245/75R16 tire.
Be sure to air down, WAY down in sand and that should help keep you from getting stuck.
