Hi All, I'm a new member here. I have a 2000 XLS and I am in need of tires......again. Now, i am no expert, so maybe someone who is more competent in tires, can give me some suggestions. I have purchased 2 sets of tires in 4 years. I have no idea if that is good or not but I am looking for good tires that last longer. My last tires were 18in Yokohama's. Any suggestions? Please....

you have 18" rims?
Most 18" tires are "sticky" and hold the road REALLY well and thus wear quickly.
I have the stock 16" rims on our 2001 and have Michelin LTX A/T 265/75R16 tires and have put 47,000 miles on them and expect to get at LEAST another 20,000 miles. I still have half tread left.

Yup, seems like all the varieties of the yokos tend to be made from a very soft compound.
I'd look into a radial with a tread life warranty.
My BFG Mud Terrains came with a 40,000 mile warranty.
Not bad for mudders.

I have a MS 2001 XLS & I have some 17" BFG All Terrain KO & they are great. I have had Goodyear, Yokohama,Michellin but I like BFG better. I am getting BFG again when i need too.

I put Goodrich Dueler A/T Revo's on about a month ago. So far I am pleased with them. They are very quiet and they look great. They have done well in the snow we have had.

I have Dunlop Radial Rover A/T tires. They do great for all around driving. They have performed well in the snow and mud. They're also good for just around town.

If u have 18's I'm guessing u dont have much need for the dulers or any of the other tires mentioned. I have the dulers but only use them for the winter time. If I were u I would look into getting a set of the kuhmo ecstas that I have. they dont run much and have a very deep tread for what they r and are made for street use. they are also of a harder compound and should last a long time. Check them out on tire rack. Kuhmo may have came out with a newer version now and they r comparible to yoko's or any other high dollar tire. Clay
