hey guys im finally looking to do something about my Montero sports rear end bottoming out... today i pulled my quad up into the mtn with some friends and the MS was literally sitting on the stops making the ride super harsh and i know i wasn’t exceeding its passenger or towing limit so im looking at my options and so far i see a 2inch lift kit by emu or installing a air setup for the rear what would you guys suggest and what’s worked for you? keep in mind im just a average joe suv guy im not a crazy off-roader just a city dork that needs a suv to head to the mountains with my toys thanks in advance edgar,

Honestly, if you are not doing a whole bunch of off-roading and more oriented towards towing, most of the time, I would go with the air bag set-up.
I have worn these OME Medium Springs down, as well as destroyed the two rear Nitrochargers. You'd probably be fine with the OME setup, however, if I were you and I planned on doing more towing than off-roading, that's what I'd do.

The airlift kit with on board compressor runs around $210 from www.centuryperformance.com. The OME springs and shocks run around $400. The airlift kit was a 3-4 hour install (taking my time) and was an easy install. I'm very happy with the airlift kit, and the ability to adjust the ride on the fly is great. Lance

as promissed here is the update with pics.... well i fanally got a chance this weekend to install my air setup. after receving my setup in the mail i looked over the parts included and the install manual and it look very extensive but after i got to work on the car it was VERY easy and straight forward. (thank god) my initial thoughts after driving it was WOW! it now rides much more smoother and is not saging or bottoming out in the rear like befor with a load or passangers VERY AWESOME the only thing i would have to say that i was not expecting was how much the rear of the truck lifted (with minimal air 5psi) it raised the truck about a inch or more. overall tho im very happy. now for the pics

thanks for the pic and information on this kit... how is it still working for you almost 5 months later? i'm thinking of getting this to help the back end of my MS for a ride towing a mustang from ME to NY. Worth the money?

Hey guys, I just finished installing the airlift kit on my 2000 ms. I was tired of the saggy rear end, bottoming out and such. So far I am very pleased with the ride and am very happy with the way my truck sits now with a loaded trailer attached. I would recomend this setup to anyone looking for a stiffer more stable ride, especially with a loaded truck or a few friends in the back. I picked my kit up from summitracing.com for under $200.
