I own a '97 Montero Sport LS 4WD. After I start my car, drive at low speed and turn the wheel more than 90 degrees, I hear a sort of dull metallic clunking noice coming from my rear tires. The sound goes away when I straighten the car out. I suspect the bearings are bad.
Also, I've noticed a burnt rubber smell when I shut my car off and get out. I got my front pads/rotors replaced about 5 months ago, and the mechanic said my rear pads would go soon. Maybe there is a relation?
Has anyone had a similar problems? Any inkling would be appreciated!
