Just had my stock wheels rebalanced and rotated at the Mits dealer. Got my vehicle back and you can see where the old wheel weights were because they pitted the wheels. Do all dealers stamp these things on the outside of the rim? I hate this. Anybody know what I can possibly do to get this fugly crap off my wheels other than buying new ones.

That is how they come factory balanced (with external lip mounted lead weights). It's possible to use stick weights on the inside of the rim but i only suggest using them if your balancing doesn't require much weight to get it dialed in. Good Luck!

Here's what I did. I got some 600 grit sand paper and wet sanded the pitted areas. This does, however, remove the protective coatings on the aluminum. But turned out ok. I am in search of new wheels now. Joel, are those factory wheels on your ride chrome? They look very shiny in your sig picture.

How did you go about getting that done? Was it expensive? If I get that done to mine, I won't have to replace the wheels. Thanks Joel.
