I had a post on this forum a few months ago related to electrical noise after a stereo install of Premier head unit, new speakers and PPI amp. Turning down the gain on the amp reduced most of the engine whine but there still remains a faint electrical noise but it is not modulated by the accelerator like it was prior to the gain change. Now I have even more problems.
My car is either possessed or the installer is. I started to adjust my driver side electric mirror and when I did so there was a loud crackling noise over the speakers and the mirror started to vibrate erratically. This happened when the radio is on, off or the faceplate is off.
As everything was fine prior to my radio install I am assuming it is possibly the ground. There is more to the story here. The installer first said he thinks it is my old amp and basically blamed the problem on it. I asked him to swap it out with one of his own just to test because my amp has been running fine prior to being installed in the truck. With the test amp in the same thing happens.
Next the installer decides to remove the radio and test another model. This works fine so he sent the supposed defective unit in for warranty repair or replacement. In mean time I was given the test radio as loaner unit. It worked fine. I was next given a new unit to replace the original one. Again everything was fine for a couple months then one time I adjusted the mirror the exact same symptoms repeated.
I am scheduled to take the car in to the installer but over the phone when I was making the appointment he said he thinks it's a problem with the car.
Has anyone had this happen before or do you have any recommendations.
