you need a flat head and a philips screwdriver
get a flat head screw driver and insert it into the crack on the lower corner of the trim plate, now pry the faster loose and repeat for the opposite side, then pry off the top parts, now remove the 4 screws located on both edges of the mount, pull the deck out. it should have a double DIN mount, remove the screws that are holding the factory CD player carefully, when i did it i stripped the first two, ii tightened the screws just slightly till i heard a pop, then unscrewed. then slide your new deck and screw it in. that should be it, unless your CD new CD player doesnt have the mounting holes, then ull have to get an adapter. EASY!
i just installed a new deck on my MS but i put the pocket on top to make it a lil less noticable

Thanx! Info was right on time. Also can you tell me if it is possible to install and wire a separate in-dash dvd unit in the empty slot below the factory radio location?

i believe its possible but the wiring would be tremendous, it might be better if you trim up the wiring it should fit fine,,,make sure you insulate all the wiring. have fun.. take pix!!!! and post them!

This is what I have on hand to install in my 2001 Montero Sport: BOSS DVD3000B In-Dash Car DVD/CD/CD-RW/MP3 Player Kenwood KCA-S210A, 2 Changer Plus Aux Input Switcher 2- 7" headrest monitors 2- 5" sunvisor monitors Mobile video distributor amp I already have a Kenwood S5009 cd unit installed. The only item I am not sure about installing is the sunvisor monitors where the wire has to be ran behind the trim. However, given my hectic schedule, I might make calls to get some installation estimates.
