Can the power antenna on a '99 Montero Sport be easily replaced with a non-powered antenna? How easy is this? Do you have to remove a quarter panel to get to the antenna motor?
Thanks!

It can be replaced but it's NOT an easy job. You'll have to gain access to behind the inner fender well by removing the fender flare and inner splash shield just to remove the old motor and intall the new antenna. Next youll need to route the new antenna cable from your new unit behind the dash and plug it into the back of the radio (gaining access to the radio in another job in itself). It's not a very difficult task but may take some time and patience. Good Luck!

Thanks for the info Joel - that's what I was afraid of. My reception became lousy. I managed to get to the radio and the antenna connection was ok. So I thought I'd check the antenna, and go ahead and replace as I was accessing it.
