Hi -- I've been using an iTrip wireless device with my iPod, but I'd like to move to a direct connection of some sort for my stock Infinity system. A local car stereo shop is recommending an FM modulator that would be connected to the back of the unit. Does anyone have experience with this? Denison's ice>Link and Monster's iCruze sound better, but I'm not sure either will work with my system -- not much info out yet on iCruze that I've found, at least. Hoping for a better solution before more holiday travel. Thanks in advance. Mar 02 MS Limited, Infinity head unit (or labelled that, anyway) and six CD changer

the ipod & the modulator allow you to get decent sound, not the best though. If you wanna incorporate your ipod to your stereo & get superior sound quality i suggest you replace your headunit. This is only if you have the money. Alpine has an adapter (KCA-420i) it is the 1st adapter that allows you to hook up your ipod to your stereo, only BMW has this already installed. Of course it only works with the Alpine head units that are compatible & there are some. This is fairly expensive though, i think the adapter is around $100 while the headunit is somewhere above $700. you should check it out at sometime.

All the new alpine HU's are coming out with the capability to use that i-pod thing. Ive played with the little interface thing and it seems pretty simple kinda like installing a tuner box for sat. radio. You dont hafta spen 700 bucks on a new deck either, you can get into an alpine for about 150 that will do the job, and i think that ipod thingy is l;ike 100 bucks er so.

I've heard there are adapters that will convert the (factory) CD changer input to an auxillary input for the iPod. Has anyone tried this?
