Hey all, I had a few questions for all you audio geniuses out there. I have an '00 sport and just recently had a friends subs in my car. His setup consisted of 2 12 rockfords in a sealed box with an 800w amp. He needed it back and now I am left with nothing. Being in college I am looking to get myself setup with something inexspensive. My question is will I notice a huge difference in bass if instead of 2 12's I go with 2 10's, something like an MTX loaded box off of ebay. Or how about an MTX box with 3 10's, also would there be problems trying to run 3 subs with a 2 channel amp? Thanks for any imput or advice.

The difference between 2 10's and 2 12's would only be about 6db. If you run the same subs same power same box. If you ran just one 12" sub ported it would be as loud as the 2 sealed. Or the two 10's ported would be louder than the 12's sealed.
And three subs configure in to a odd ohm load so running them on most amps could be a problem.
If you could pick up an old Fosgate Hx2($90) and a 501bd($150) amp and run it ported. I'm sure that would be plenty of bass for you.
