I had an aftermarket stereo installed about a month ago, but did not realize that only the front door speakers work. I removed the stereo from the dash to check the speaker wires, and the wire harness color code matches up to the stereo( White, Gray, Green, Purple). Could the factory amp have something to do with this? Please help me out if you can. Thanks in advance, Chris P.S. I lost the receipt for the place that installed it, so going back to them is out

If you have the infinity system, check that amp otherwise check your fading and balance levels on your head unit and also check the connections to your rear speakers by removing the door panel and making sure the wires are installed correctly. I know that a few months ago my rear left speaker kept going off and this was due to loose wiring. If you are pondering if taking off the door trim is trouble, its really not, just remove the screws around the door, handle and door handle and pull off. If you already checked this, im not sure what is left to do, but im sure someone else here might have a few pointers.

Thanks for the reply. I decided to reconnect my factory unit, and what do you know, all the speakers work again. I guess it was the extra plug behind the dash that was not connected to the aftermarket stereo. I'm supprised the guys that installed it didn't even bother to find out what it was for....shame on them. Maybe I'll just rewire the whole thing to work with my aftermarket unit.

I have the same problem. Isn't there a cable that converts the factory amp plug ins to RCA. I read something about it on a past post. If there is a cable does anyone know where to get one.
