im about to do a sas myself and just thought i would ask you some things because you are a bit infront of me on it.all i have is a truck i found that i can rob so as long as things go ok mine should be easy cause im just gonna leaf spring i think. im not sure if i wanna take the extra time to 4 link it... are you going with leaf springs in front of 4link . i saw where you said you wanted to keep your rear axle and i wanna try to do that too. im not doing mine as much for rocks as i am for trails so as long as i can leaf spring i and make it look good and not look like that black one they had on ebay then im fine. i have my old cj for the big stuff this one will be more for looks and trail rides so ill just lift the front and re-gear the rear to match and get power to the axles and then hit the trail....i wish it were as easy as i just made that sound tho. but if you can tell me anything to help please let me know

IMO though the toy axles (the ones i've seen) are too narrow but trade off is the ease of leaf springs. i have coils/radius arms in the rear so i definetly wanted coils/radius arms in the front, to match. one more thing... ...it's alot more money than i expected, but what else am i going to spend it on, booze and women?

i need to find out how much wider my rear is than the toy front.....i can always go with a set of spacers....they go up to as wide as 2in so that aint as big of a prob to me as if i cant get some leaf springs to look factory on it cause i dont want it to look redneck or ill start over.. im at the thinking point now about what i need to do and what i need to get cause i hate to get midway and find i have to go make or buy something new. nice thing for me is the in-laws own a machine shop so i get it easy when it comes to custom parts. so as you go just let me know if there are any huge stops you face so im ready for it.

But the Tcase gears wont make it any more comfortable to drive on the street...? I'll be running 35's with a 10:1 sohc engine, 5.13/5.14 gears I cant wait to wheel together, we gotta get some pics of the only SAS's MS's in the midwest

Notch the cross member and rebox it. That works fine. Unless you go with more lift than I have now - which is a BOAT load - the rear slip yoke will work for a while. Just wanted to let you guys know that I going to have a Mitsu t-case here in a couple weeks with the converted front fixed yoke setup if anyone's interested. Edward
