Does anyone know how to reset the factory radio after a battery has been changed.

If I am right then, you will have to key in a password/PIN that came with the radio. It's different from one to another. I am not sure if the Mitsu Dealers have a universal password but you can try.

You do need a 4 pin number that is on a card when you bought your vehicle new. If purchased used and do not know the original owner, you have to pull the radio out to get the model number and serial number off the back of the radio. Give this info to your local Mitsu. dealer and they can look up the code.
To enter pin no. you have to use the radio pre-set buttons to select numbers and then, at least on my 2000 model, you complete by selecting the CD button.

When I was at the dealer for my last service, they got a call about the same type of question. This Mitsu bought used, battery went dead, needed the code. Dealer told them that the radio serial number, VIN, and driver's license was required...dealer suggested (strongly??!) that the vehicle be brought in so they could get all the numbers...and don't forget the driver's license.
Cheers, Stod
