Ever since I had my T-belt service from the dealer at 110k, I've been running hot. If the temp gauge was a fuel gauge, then I'd be at 3/4 full ALL THE TIME. After the T-belt service was done and I drove around and noticed it, I went back to the dealer and the service guy said it was within the "normal" range. I don't know how true that is, I'm not a Mitsu mechanic, but I don't like looking down at the temp gauge and thinking it's going to blow at any minute.
btw...the dealer also replaced the radiator during the T-belt service. Before he did so, I asked if I could get a Heavy Duty radiator put in and he said "no". Is that true? Isn't there anyone out there that makes a better radiator that the OEM?

Thats not normal. Could be a bad fan clutch. Loose fan belt. Condensor fan not working. Air in the lines. Not flushed properly. Faulty/clogged radiator. Bad radiator cap. Get it pressure tested too.

ok thanks bdmontero. I didn't think it was normal either. My mind started playing tricks on me making me think that maybe the air intake and exhaust I had put on was somehow causing the engine to run hot. I even put back on the OEM air intake -ALL OF IT-, and guess what? Now it runs even hotter than the custom air intake I had.

bd! You were right. The fan clutch was completely gone. The Sport is back to normal. I had them test it and it is running between 195-205 degrees F.

I called about a new radiator and was told it would be $750 for a custom aluminum w/ fans so there are options just not cost effective options.
