Yea I definitely am not in limp mode, but my mileage around town has been severely impacted recently. Was fine all last year even with larger tires. Recently however since I have moved in to a city and thus requires no highway driving my mpg is down to about 16/17 mpg. Which consequently means about 250 miles a tank...which really sucks. Although looking at the EPA tables for my 3.0l with a manual trans that is dead on if not a little above even for city. Surpsingly my mpg for highway with a manual is really up. About 21/22 mpg, which seems backwards for a manual, but again is inline with the EPA estimate for my vehicle. Goes to show, I'm actually better off driving at a higher speed longer distance than shorter distance slower speed. My big Sport and my little '97 as well as my friends '98 with the 3.0L does better on the highway. However, my big Sport with the new 3.5L is better in town even with the drop from the 5.38s to the new 4.90 gears. My x's '99 3.5L automatic behaved the same as well as my 2003 3.5L Limited. The 3.0L is a higher strung HP engine. The 3.5L is torque engine. As I've pointed out before, it's very much like the difference between the old Chevy 350 and the Pontiac 350. There's a big different between short and long stroke engines. Edward www.4x4extremesports.com
