Hey guys need some help. I have a Y2K Lim MS and I would like to find out how to rewire my stock fog lights so it doesn't turn off when I put it on high beam. My high beam works just fine but I notice that the angle and light projection is from 15 feet and beyond. The fog lights projection is closer to the vehicle. It would be nice to have them all working at the same time during my night off roading trips. I also would like to find out if I'm the only one having problems with COPS saying that my headlights burn too bright. I at one time got pulled over and was asked to pull out my bulbs so that the COP could see if I have HID. There is no after market bulbs installed and I never adjusted the height or angle of my lights. My rig isn't also lifted. I'm just tired of seeing vehicles highbeaming me on the road telling me to off my highbeams when I'm just on my lows. Thanks in advance.

It sounds like your fog lights are integrated with your headlight wiring. A common solution would be to take your foglight switch wiring and bypass the headlight fuse/wiring and find a different fuse to connect with or come directly off your power source(12volt) and use an in-line fuse(still bypassing your headlights) I think Joel could have some more detailed input You might want to direct this ? to him. Let me know the aftermath ;D p.s. Your not the only one that has had on road high beam complaints when your only on low's. I've spent many a night with my finger set for retaliation on the high beam stick because every car that comes, (I know) is going to bright me. This is before I put my lift on also. I think the design of the lamp reflector and the angle of the lights has a lot to do with it.

hey monsport, I have a 2001 and get hi-beamed all the time. I also had my fog lamp switch mobified but was no able to bypass the hi-beam shut-off. Any car audio store should be able to run the fogs independent of the lights for very cheap. It only cost me $15 in labor. cwic

I wanted to get my factory foglights to illuminate independantly from the headlamps. I looked at the wiring schematic to try and get them to illuminate with headlamp switch in the parking lights position. It took more than just a simple modification...and I didn't really want to start tinkering with the harness...so I just lived with it.
