This is my first car, and I don't know how to find parts to "soup-up" my '02 XLS. First, I would love to get better gas mileage. Not that 15 is bad, but I'm livin' on a college girl's budget (basically, I'm broke) and I could go for a little better. Also, I am going to tint my windows and probably chrome dip my factory rims, but is there anything else out there that can make my ride smooth? I've always loved "cool cars" and I want mine to be hot. Oh, and does anyone have any advise about lifts or lowering? Thanks.

If your willing to spend the money in crome dipping the stock rims, you might as well swap them out for better looking ones. I'l probably cost you the same since you wont need to buy tires. I have an 03 XLS and found that there are not to many aftermarket parts for it. I'm basically changing out intake system and CAT Back exhaust..To get better gas mileage and also by swapping out the cat back, u'll get the added benefit of a better sounding exhaust. Swapping out the wheels to 20s and I' also trying to figure out the best way to lower the MS...Good Luck

if you are going with the hks cat-back, dont waste your money. you can get something better with a better sound for like half the price. like put some flowmaster 50 or 70 series on there. the hks sounds almost stock. you're paying 400 for a sporty tip. and mxamanda, yeah go with some different wheels to chrome plate. stock would look too funny. you cuold actually get away with buying 18 or 19" alloys and slamming it that's what i wanted to do until i found out how much bags AND wheels would cost so i just settled for the 22". oh yeah, if you see on ebay those little resistor things that say they improve performance, it's a joke from radio shack.
