Well, here's the story, I kinda/sorta left my girl last new year's eve/day and went snowmobiling with my dad in Montana and Wyoming. Don't get me wrong it was fun as h*ll and the only reason we left at that time was mainly for the good prices on flights and such. I plan on taking us (fiancee and I) to New York City for New Year's eve this year as a Christmas present to her. My question to everyone here is: To fly? Or drive? I started the calculations and so far have come up with cheaper to drive...sorta. But is it worth it to drive? The monty just turned over to 100,000 two days ago! Am I safe? Would the monty be alright for the trip? Thanks to anyone who replies

So how far of a drive is it? My Montie just turned 100k last weekend we are taking it 660 miles to Denver, then through the mountains. And maybe some trails through Georgetown.(depending on the weather) I have all the confidence in the world in mine. To be honest with you I haven't spent any real money on mine (other then oil changes) till just recently. I wold take yours just spend some time with it making everything right. Of course you can't always know if your rig is going to break. but I know mine has never left me and I don't think it will. BTW use price line for a room its incredible how cheep you can get a room for these days.

I have literally driven mine to hot springs AR. and back. Denver and back twice now. wyoming and back. and to port aransas Tx recently and back and have NEVER broken down. Regular tune-up and oil changes. I would rather drive. You have the freedom of your own vehicle. and dont have to bend over at the check-in counter to get a** raped by the airline companies. plus not have to deal with a whole bunch of people cramped together in an airplane. Downside. it will take what about 3 hours flight time compared to 8-10 hours drive time right?

lol, you guys crack me up, mile high club is right ;D. Thanks for feedback...and the peanut gallery! I'm DEFINITELY not a fan of cramped airplanes and/or getting felt up by men at random check points.
Yea, well the round trip (driving) would total about 1800-2000 miles, because I live in Green Bay, WI. If done right, about 15-18 hours--there. Roughly $245 in gas, $500 total. I don't know, it sounds like a good drive, although I wouldn't mind it one bit. I once drove from Green Bay, WI to St. Louis, MO and back non-stop. Out of curiousity, anyone ever been to Times Square?

ive been to times squre twice: once for new years....NOT WORTH IT!!! i drove 23hrs to get there and its cool to say u have been there for it, but its not what it looks on tv. a million people crammed in police baracades, once your in you cant get out until its over, and if u want a good spot u have to get there at like 5pm.....5-12 is a long *** time to wait for a 10 sec. countdown followed by a mad dash to the subway.

I took my wife to the laundry mat last new years and I even offered to fold for the special occasion. This year my plans include a good bottle of wine (Boons Farm) and maybe some Wendy's nuggets.
Just in case you need some ideas.
