I've got a 2003 Montero Sport LS with the factory radio, AM-FM and CD player, dash mounted. Nothing else.
Is this unit one which has the anti-theft code issues, or is the code issue limited to the more expensive audio option units?
I've just gotten a SERVICE ENGINE SOON light and I was going to clear it with a batter disconnect, but I don't want to deal with the radio codes.
I don't recall ever seeing a card with the document package, so the radio might not require a code if powered down for a long period of time.
thanks,
Sheldon

Mine was a plane jane cassette deck. It had a security lock on it. Simply disconnecting your battery wont permanently erase that CEL code. You need to get the REAL problem fixed.
