get you a CAI for a 97 accord off ebay, i think mine came from canade for 20.50$, shipped, then i bought a spectre maf adapter from o'reilly auto parts for 15$ and a another 3' rubber coupler with clamps for 8$ slapped it all back together and vuela, couple hours later you will be raising hell down the street and getting better MPG

cai stands for cold air intake it will release some horse power by allowing more and a less restrictive air flow in the intake it works best when changing the exhaust also ...because there is restriction to, on the flow.... so what gets in has to equal what gets out

ah ok cheers doarmihai just made me wonder thats all as i have a mk shogun v6 3.0 24v and having real mpg problems i have worked it out to be doing 13.3 mpg round town at the moment when it used to be 22mpg. one of the problems i think which i have ordered a new part for is the egr pipe that goes from exhaust manifold to the egr valve which had split on the metal flexi part . i have just purchased a new part from mitsubishi ( dealer part only in uk) and it was doing 22mpg before i blanked the egr valve off as a temporary solution. so now at £102 (not dollars ) my pocket feels heavily abused but i am still wondering how over the last few months my mpg has got drastically down to 13.3 mpg

would fitting a snorkel to the v6 help improve mpg as that is a raised cold air intake

Hello all. I just got a 98 MS for my dad and am fixing it up. I'm looking forward to seeing what kind of mileage it gets. On the test drive I was getting approx. 25 MPG hwy. There's a lot that needs fixing and modding to get it to be where I want it for my dad to get good mileage. I'd be happy if he gets 25 MPG average. (That would also includes our 2.5 mile climb up a mountain to get home.) I actually have a 2000 RAV4 that I hypermile in. We're getting almost 50% above EPA ratings so far. I've done a lot of research and trying things out, to get better mileage. It's been lots of fun, and saving around $50 a month on fuel is cool! I wanted to inform you guys, in case you didn't know, about a couple of good sites: www.ecomodder.com and www.cleanmpg.com . You will find lots of great ideas and information in those places!

Get one from a 97-00 ford contour v6. It will fit almost perfect. Any more info on this would be appreciated. I am looking for this fan on eBay and am only finding Used ones for between 40-50. Is this correct and price is raised cause of inflation or do you know of a specific vendor? Also what is entailed in doing this conversion? Will mounting brackets need to be fashioned? How about Wiring? Would old fan need removing and a shorter belt installed? I assume I will need one of those temp switches mentioned earlier in thread. Sorry if some of these seem redundant, I should have a better understanding of what is what when I take everything off when I replace timing belt (which is when I hope to do any upgrades). Going to replace spark plugs during this time, as well. P.S. I did air intake swap a while back and didn't notice any real change. I do most my driving in city though.
