you can use that i did with my pipe, you can go the cheap route like that and use your stock pipe and set the filter back in the box with the lid off. i noticed better power and tq and fuel economy putting in a pipe with no vacuum boxes and other BS they put on it

With this kit I guess I'll just need a MAF adapter to complete the kit for my '01 Sport Ltd 3.5L. Will post back after installation.
