That's nice dcarver! I like the box you created, is there a standard box you used or is that completely homemade?

The box is a 6.5 quart hefty storage container from lowes. I just cut a hole in both ends and spray painted it with some duplicolor rubberized coating. Hopefully that keeps it from melting.

Very nice, lol. Sorry I think I missed that in the description. Great Idea! I need to pick one up (although I work at the direct competitor of Lowes) haha

Similar to what I did but I created a scoop low in the bunper and used the S shaped tube from the stock box to bring the air into the scoop.

It's funny because I was discussing with a friend my worries that the "cold" air intake I have isn't really sucking in cold air. Since I have no box or cover, it just sucks in the air that is in the engine bay. So I guess I should rename it to a "HOT" air intake.
However, my friend suggested the very thing you did. I think you did great and may have to copy you.

I went to AutoZone today and bought the Spectre solid piece tube that fits the 1997-1998 Honda Accord. (It's basically the only solid piece pipe they sell). I had to cut off about 5 inches, and I needed a longer vacuum hose, but it looks a lot better than the one a had before. I also bought some rubber/cellulose paper to make a make-shift gasket. I had to cut it out myself, but hopefully it will help seal the MAF to the adapter.
Thanks for the post guys.

Oh! One more thing....would wrapping some type of insulation around the intake tubes help the air stay cool? Has anyone tried that?
