I have my 98 MS v6 which I still need to fix my fuel issue before anything else, but Im curious. Other than a jvc head unit and an optima yellowtop.. its bone stock. Which in my opinion is a good thing, no ones screwed anything up because no ones tried to pimp it out.
Im just wondering, since my other rides I was only interested in power, what modifications can help in fuel economy for our trucks?

well, if you believe in better engine breathing, then cold air intake, and headers. They might improve an mpg or so with them both, gain a little torque from the headers, and coolness factor goes up with those things in your engine bay ;D. not to mention you can get some pretty good sounds from these engines, I chopped the cat off mine (now reinstalled) and we ran without any exhaust at all (just in the shop momentarily) sounded pretty bada$$ if you ask me....but rev it up...whew--sounds like a freakin' busted tuner.

Well as far as perfromance and all I have the 3000gt. Thats going to get swapped and tuned for the track. As far as the montero goes I wouldnt mind a slightly agressive exhaust note but nothing crazy. A little bit under the hood would be alright for if I pop my hood at a meet or somethin but again nothing over the top. I want the montero to be more of a luxury/daily driver. Clean interior, fresh audio/video. In the process of making it nice and livable I gotta get better fuel economy out of it haha. I do believe in the breathing aspect and was looking into intakes and Ill prob ably have a custom bent exhaust when Im done, just didnt know if anyone knew of anything else I can do
