Hey guys, is there actually a difference between the front and rear center cap retainers?

Disregard, the front retainer clip fits the back rim perfectly.

UPDATE: The front and rear clips are different. Using front clips on the rear makes for a really tough install and removal of the center cap, but it can be done. The correct clips for the rear wheels are much easier to work with. Now I have two extra front wheel clips.

I looked the retainer rings up and sure enough, Mitsubishi lists the front and rear as separate parts. The center cap will work on either front or rear. Did you happen to noticed what the difference between the front and rear rings is? Edward

Sorry ES, I didn't know you asked a question. The front rings seem very stiff, while the rears seem lighter and more flexible in comparison, and lighter in color like aluminum. They need to be more flexible when the wheel is installed so you can install the center cap properly. Using a front retainer on the rear makes installing the cap really difficult, and evidently many people don't get the caps installed all the way and wind up losing them while driving.

Yea, if that happens that would explain a lot. I never really noticed, but I did the SAS just a few years after I bought it new. Didn't have a chance to have to replace rings. I'll have to keep that in mind on my new '97 and '03. Edward
