O'Reilly has it too, its just the Mitsubishi eclipse adapter. That's the one I'm using with the silver painted plastic kit.
Speaking in terms of the short ram intake too, you should think of pulling air directly from the fender well, otherwise you'll be pulling in hot air from the engine bay versus the stock system which pulled air from just above the headlights. I have yet to act on this plan myself but that's the ultimate goal, otherwise the whole point of the "cold" air intake is defeated.
If you catch my drift?

yes i discovered that a few days ago when i was checking around in the engine so the short ram would probably actually have no gains. idea aborted lol..i am thinking up a way to make a cold air pipe and pulling from the lower fender well like you suggested. what size diameter piping is most of these manufacturers using?

Anywhere from 3 inch to 4 inch. The adapter is a 4 inch which most cone filters that are universal have adapter rings to fit either size.
I think the stock tube was 3 inch? Can't remember without going out there. It's friggin cold here in se Wisconsin right now! 10 degrees with a -5 -10 windchill. Not pleasant!
