I've used these forums many times before with help on my 2000 3.0L montero sport. The motor threw a rod the other day and I've been contemplating on what to do with the truck. After looking at new engines I have decided to go with something other than the 6g7x. I was woundering if anyone knew the dimensions of the engine bay. The motor I'm looking at is the Toyota JDM 2JZGTE. It is 30" wide at the top, 31" long, and 27" tall. At the bottom it is only 14" wide. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Couldnt tell you exact dimensions, but are your measurements also taking in to account the exhaust and the type of transmission you'll be using? Since the bellhousing will have an affect on placement I think? Also need to look at where the engine mounts are on the new engine. Judging from my memory and generally guessing from being in there so much, I would GUESS the width should be ok, the height will probably squeezing it in there and I couldn't guess on the length. If I get the time, I'll go down and measure some rough dimensions. Otherwise your guess is as good as mine with a tape measure.
