I had the wheels balanced and aligned. They said too much play on the wheel side to side while on the left. I replaced idler arm and pitman arm. At 55mph steering wheel is steady but at 65-70mph, I can feel a shake or shimmy. What else causing this shimmy?

Wheel bearings need serviced and the proper torque applied. Around 108-120 ft lbs I believe. Then you back off. Etc etc

You mean service by replacing the wheel bearing? I might as well replace the upper and lower ball joints and the tie rods. Thanks.

No I would have them checked for play first before doing that. Its no cheap or easy task as the whole a arm and ball joint will need to be replaced. Baby steps. The wheel bearings can be serviced. I would spect a bad tie rod/ pitman arm idler arm before a bad ball joint.

Had to replace the tie rods on my '01 recently. Made a world of difference in the ride.
