We have a 2003 montero limited. The speaker in the rear right side needs replaced..how do you get the moulding off in order to get to the speaker? Thanks, Casey and Ardena

I would use a plastic tongue depressor to pop out the panel. I think there are only 3-4 philips screws holding it together.

We have a 2003 montero limited. The speaker in the rear right side needs replaced..how do you get the moulding off in order to get to the speaker? Thanks, Casey and Ardena I just did this very thing recently... I believe there are 2-3 screws around the edges of the panel, one for the beauty plate for the door release and a screw in the bottom of the plastic door handle (the one you use to grab and pull the door closed). Also, that plastic door handle is a separate piece that actually goes through a metal strap that is screwed into the metal door itself. So you need to remove all the screws, and then you need to pop out that plastic door handle/grip to make removing the panel MUCH easier. Then you can go around the perimeter of the door and pop all the plastic clips to release the panel. For popping those clips out I went to Autozone and picked up a pack of 6 plastic wedge tools that are made for this task (3 orange and 3 black wedges) for $9.99 that made the job much easier. It uses 6.5" speakers mounted into these plastic housings, and the screw pattern isn't the typical circular pattern like an aftermarket speaker, the speakers have a squarish mounting plate so you might have to drill out some new mounting holes, or get an adapter plate for them off eBay.
