If you have 1900 dollars btv4x4.com has a 7" lift kit that keeps the torsion bars in the stock location. Its for the pajero wagon. Rebadged Montero sport.

Is there anyway to just get a 3" suspension lift, and then do a 3" body lift?

Look at Old Man Emu or Iron man suspension. They have suspension lifts for the sports. Also the Frame and suspension is from the Gen 2 Full size Montero. So you could also look at parts for that vehicle as well. I am not sure how much they lift but you could look and then do your body lift. From what I have seen you can use 2in lifts from a Toyota Tacoma. Many of the Gen 2 owners go that route. Here is a link, for a build thread the guy mentions using the blocks and also an install. www.expeditionportal.com/forum/threads/72692-Eurosonic-s-Montero-2-5Gen-Build-Thread

Is my vehicle equipped with torsion bars, and if not, could I just add them to my suv?

So im thinking this then. Getting the OME medium duty with torsion bars, and then purchasing a 3" body lift from 4 crawler. Will I have to do any other mods to make this possible. Sorry, I'm real ignorant.

You will have to probably add in some brake line extensions and fuel lines too. you are adding distance from brakes to the frame, especially with the body lift. Taking the body off the frame adds a lot of distance.

Ah, alright. How much would that cost? Sadly I have no clue, I would look around on the expedition portal web site for info on how to go about it. Or look for ES_97 he would have a lot of answers for building a lift on Montero Sports.

Thanks for all your help mudrunner. I'm just going to stick to 4" until I do some more research on the brake and fluid lines.

You will also have to remove your lower fan shroud on the radiator and possibly extend the hoses since the radiator will go up with the body lift. another thing to watch is your four wheel shifter, fuel tank line and any other lines attached to the body. just watch all hoses and lines, do the lift lift slowly. i lifted mine one jack at a time and inspected everything each time. good luck. i did the OME lift with a 2.5' body lift and torsion crank for roughly $500. make sure to buy new bolts that are strong enough to replace the factory body mount ones.
