Called up our local Mitsu dealership and I was quoted $129 for transmission drain & fill + optional filter replacement for an additional $50. Guy said they don't do full tranny flush. I was contemplating on getting this done by the dealership rather than other local shops since they require at least 16 quartz of oil. Do you think this is a good deal?

That price seems within reason based on my buying 7 mitsu qts at 6.95 ea then draining the trans pan that holds 3.2 qts on mine so I did mine twice and that adds up to only being 1/2 done as far as running new fluid thru it, I called my local mitsu and they say drain only and that the filter is aluminum an would not be replaced , their saying its for the life of the trans, interesting conflicting results.

Having done a tranny pan drain not too long ago, the PAN filter on my '01 ltd. was plastic not aluminum, and it was definitely due for replacement. I think there is a second filter further inside that is aluminum tho.

went to the dealership this morning and just opted for just the drain & fill for $136 incl. tax, mechanic says filter still looks good as per oil analysis.....difference was night & day, no more slippage or hesitation felt at 20-40mph speeds (2nd gear).
