folks probably missed this cause you posted in the wrong section. You should have posted in the off road section or general. Check out my thread in the off road section. I just went through a bunch of research and posted links. Hopefully what I found will help you! msport97.proboards.com/thread/10739/montero-sport-body-suspension-neededOverview...I have a 2001 Montero Sport XLS 4wd Automatic with factory 16s. Current tires are shot, so I needed new. If I was going to bite the bullet and invest in new tires, I wanted something big. LOL! 285/75 r16 was the goal and the body lift was the closest guarentee to make it fit with minimal rubbing and with the lowest price tag. The rig had so much mechanical issues I did not have the extra $ to throw at the suspension when it was still in ok shape. So... I did my own 2 inch body lift using the generic body blocks I got through Summit. 10 body mounts total. Source the hardware at Lowes and Home Depot (all grade 8) I could not get metric and had to go 3/8 to get the length and girth I needed. I got nylon lock nuts to keep things secure. The factory washers were reusable. Overall it was tedious and slow going, but I got it done alone in my garage with a floor jack and hand tools. The worst part was crawling around under it to try to determine what brake lines, electical lines, vacuum lines and gas lines would be affected by the lift. What I had to unbolt and unfasten. in the end, the gas tank rubber filler neck and the brake line were the pains. I had to do some ugly things to the front brake line holders to keep them loose for the lift. I expected them to simply slip out of the holders like the GM versions, but no. All in all if I had a full write up to follow, it would ahve gone quicker. It was doable with the research and bits and pieces of write ups I found. I plan to do my own picture intensicve DIY write up soon. Just working on a few details to sort out the gas tank filler neck. Its now to short and my temp fix leaks. Going tonight to get the right part ordered to fix it. Once I'm sure of the part numbers for the gas filler neck I will start on the write up! Oh and I almost forgot to say. I did not have to do anything to the front and rear bumpers. They lifted up perfect with the body. Bonus for the new sports! The suspension lift. In the front... you crank the torsion bars. The rear, well that is strickly a aftermarket rear coil replacement from what I have found. OME (old man emu) is the go to source, pricey but good quality. Then you have to replace the shock w/ a longer one and sort out rear bumpstops. I'm going to try and source some spacers for the factory coils. Its going to take time to figure out and I need the rig mobile, so don't expect my spacer research too quick.
