Has anyone disected the S-shaped tube the wires to the door run through yet? I know on some cars it us just a hole in the body, and another in the door, with the rubber hose between. Other vehicles use a similar design but add a plastic cap at each end that the wires run through predrilled holes in it, and that is hidden under the rubber grommets at each end.
I need to run a couple lengths of wires into all 4 doors. Back ones for puddle lights and component speakers, front for 2/3 of the component speakers. If no plastic caps at the end it will make my life a lot easier. If they are present then it quadruples my work and because I drive my car daily I don't want to start doing it on a day that I do not have the time to complete the tasks.

Nah I just used the existing wires. I'm not however running a dedicated amp for those. All you need is the door speaker wires to reach the crossovers then run the wire to wherever the amp is. It can be a pain running through the door as most (if not all) have a door molex under the rubber boot. Its a harness thing rather than having to feed wires through everything. It's kinda like a junction block where the wires plug into it on either side. Some just drill a hole and pass the wire through (just have to make sure the insulation isn't rubbed off) but the right way would be using spare slots and terminal each end.
