I have searched with no luck here and elsewhere, would anyone by chance know the location of the charcoal vapor canister for a 2001 Mitsubishi Montero Sport 2WD 3.0L MFI SOHC 6cyl. getting evap errors and already replaced the gas cap and since this happened after a fill up i have a feeling this is the culprit.

you should post this in the Montero sport "general" section: msport97.proboards.com/board/6/generalI think there is a sensor as well. Not sure, but it might on the same bracket as the EGR solenoid? not sure if that will throw a evap. code if it fails? What code are you getting?

The vapor canister is in the same place for 97~04 sports, not sure of anything over the 04. Here's a picture of the engine bay with the canister circled in red.

I don't think mine is located there, I'll look tomorrow when I get back from the trails. I thought mine is located between the drivers side rear tire and rear bumper. I don't think I have anything located in that spot.
