Hi I was wondering if anyone knew what type of LSD came in the montero sports? I recently pulled a diff out of a junkyard montero and it has lsd but it almost looks like an eaton style. The Diff looked original when coming off so I was just curious.

What year was the Montero? The most common LSD was clutch packs. There are some Torsen LSD's out there. Knowing the year helps a lot.

I pulled it out of an 01 sport. Definitely looks like a torsen style.

Another question I had was that my original diff is a 4.636 and I calculated that the new diff is a 4.625. will this mess anything up if I don't change the front diff?

Absolutely, if you don't make sure they match, the final drive ratios for the front and rear will be different. You can see where this is going I believe.

Many of the FS Montero guys have not had issue mixing the 4.625 and 4.636 gears....0.003% difference
