I am unable to uses the “unlock switch” (it won’t unlock or lock) on the driver side from the inside of the vehicle, but my passenger side door switch is fine. I can unlock it from the outside with the car key, but the remote will not work. What is the problem?

Hey, mxmikie.. First of all thanks for reading my thread. Here are some infos that might help you in-helping me. The vehicle is a 98 Montero Sports that just rolled over 120,000 miles. I installed an off the-market-car alarm (Viper Rattler) in 2000. The vehicle has been running great and just out of the blue in 2002, the door switch stopped working. When I use the remote alarm to disarm the alarm, I can hear all door switches engaging. However, when I arm the vehicle all three doors locks expect for the driver side. I have tried to manually close (locking the door) the door switch but the switch is frozen. I have never tried to open the door’s panel to see if anything mechanical out of line. Someone told me that the door switch relays my have gone bad. I really don’t think it’s the case because my passenger’s side works. When I manual lock my passenger’s side all the doors in back lock expect for my diver’s side. Any thoughts on the door switch issues?
