Easter Jeep Safari in Moab. Hey are any of you Montero Sport guys and gals gonna visit the "Mecca" of Off-Roading this Easter weekend. I would like to meet and shoot the sh*t with some fellow M.S. nuts! I will probably be at Potato Salad on the 19th, partying and all that. Spotting a trail on my 400ex with three of my Jeeper buddies, probably Poison Spider Mesa, on the 20th. Somebody chime in!

It is well worth the trip and you have the Jeep already, probably aren't many places you couldn't go around Mo' and there are a sh*itload. Watch out for the wrong time of year though, EXTREME heat. Early Spring, late Fall best bet, weatherwise. Yada yada yada...... 2000utesport

Update on the 4-20: Man Moab was a blast, was hoping to see some M.S.'s on the trail but did not. Did not get to take my 400ex either since I was towing the tent trailer. MAN, Potato Salad on Saturday was out of control, what a party! Ended up doing a trail in the Mits. got a lot of funny looks from the Jeepers, you know: the what the hell is that guy doing on this trail in that rice burner?!!! look, with the wife and kid in the back watching Hercules on DVD! ;D Did Fins and Things bypassing 0 obstacles and needing more than 1 try at an obstacle only once. Even 2 of the big *ss Jeeps took a couple of tries on obstacles that took me one. When I got that "look" I was thinking-what the hell are those big *ss Jeeps doing on a course this easy?!!! I know Fins is not the hardest trail but it is rated as difficult (3 to a 4) by a few different periodicals, but anyone who has done Fins knows it is NOT hard. NO PROBLEM for the Mits.!!!! Front tow hook took one blow and the D ring took about 3. (Man, I need to do something about these approach/departure angles!!!)LOL A locker would be NICE........ Wish I'd of seen some of you Montero Sport Wheelers there! 4-20-03 2000utesport

Yeah, MOAB IS A BLAST!! I would love to go back some day in the Summer. Fins and Things is fun isn't it. But Fins and Things is abit more difficult in the winter. Here's my pics from some old trips. skidplate4x4.tripod.com/Moabtrip.htmlskidplate4x4.tripod.com/Moabtrip02.htmlSteve Update on the 4-20: Man Moab was a blast, was hoping to see some M.S.'s on the trail but did not. Yo Skid,
NICE pic's, snow really changes the game! Hey so do you belong to a club that goes on regular outings or anything? I am interested in hooking up with some regular wheelers that are doing some similar difficulty levels as I am. I assume that you are not too far from Moab? Although now I see you've changed that front bumper to an ARB. How much would you say that allowed you to progress in difficulty? Oh yeah, have you ever been in the summer? Are you down for 105 degrees plus? I like spring and fall. Alot nicer! LOL ;D

No, I don't really belong to a club. Not enough MS's to have a club. LOL. There is kinda a club that I go 4 wheeling with on occasion called trailseeker.com. They tend to be mostly Imigos and my brother in his 4Runner. and I have gone with a group of Montys twice. I am about 8 hours away from Moab. The ARB does help. I don't know if I would say it helped in allowing me to progress in difficulty. But it has saved me from having a mangled front end/bumper. I have hit rocks and bounced of trees with the ARB. You can't do that with a stock bumper. skidplate4x4.tripod.com/Wheelerlake02/pg20Wheelerlake02.html Let me rephrase my statment. I would like to go back to Moab when there is no Snow. I have be there during the fall and close to summer time. But I didn't have my 4x4 back then. Someday I'll go back... It's alittle more difficult right now to go 4 wheeling with the family. I have a 6 month old now. Steve Yo Skid, NICE pic's, snow really changes the game! Hey so do you belong to a club that goes on regular outings or anything? Hey well congrats on the young'n. Don't let the family issues hold you back, my wife and I have carted our little girl with us on every 4wd expedition and every cross-country trip we've went on since she was born(seriously have not left her out of one trip for 2 and a half years and we've went quite a few places in 2 and a half years) A video entertainment sys. is a beautiful thing!(don't know if you already have one or not). My daughter thoroughly enjoyed our last 4x4 outing on Fins, she watched Herc. and All dogs while we had our fun! Some of my funniest memories are of my wife leaning over the passenger seat to breast feed her in the back seat(when she was younger) and we were exploring places like Olympic National Park, Arches, Canyonlands, Yellowstone and numerous 4x4 trails. Hopefully she will grow up and learn to love 4x4ing and exploring as much as I do. Hey man, the next outing you go on close to or in Utah I would love to be part of it. I'm always game for a good outing. Maybe I could show YOU some of the stuff up in Northern Utah. LOL Ute
