First time post, glad to have found this site! I have a 2000 LS and recently I have noticed a noise on start-up, sometimes, that sounds like my old Chevy 283 when the lifters needed adjusting. When I rev the engine slightly the noise is gone, or when I shut it off and restart, the noise is gone. I saw a post recently that started on this but it kind of left me hanging for more info. The noise does not increase with the rpm, it goes away. The oil is full and there are no leaks. I use Amsoil 10-40 and it has only about 2000 miles on the change. The truck has 56,000 miles on it, mostly highway.
Also has anyone come up with a good steering stabilizer for this year. Found one for a full size Montero, will that work? Thanks much Gene!

Gene,
Could that be an a/c compressor driving you crazy?
