Want to change my factory speakers. Looking to buy Infinity 63.5i for the front and back doors. Are my 1" tweeters going to be affected by the switch? And can anyone tell me what are all the other sizes of the speakers that are in the MS Limited? Eventually they will all be changed.

As far as i know the sizes of speekers in there are 4" in the dash 6.5 in the doors and i dont have any in the back so i cant help ya there. And chances are the tweets will be afected, they are run with that door speaker. There is a chance that if u re wired em in they would be fine. But if u are going to upgrade the doors i would get a componant set and take care of those too! I hope that helps ya! Lata

if you have an aftermarket deck, i would suggest a component set in the front and 3-way speakers in the back. Sounds clean!

How hard was it to remove the door skin? Is it as easy as removing the screws and easing the door handle out of the socket?
Past doors have given me problems because either some rubber insulator fell which I had no clue where to put back and some had plastic clips that held the door panel but once it was removed they simply broke off and couldnt be used again....

the doors are easy! There are severalskrews around the outside of the door then one in the door handle bezel and one in the arm rest. Once u go tthose pull out the window and mirror switches and unhook them. Once u have all that find a spot and pull out on the door panel, there are clips but they shouldnt break! Its simple the only ones i had a prob with was the backs for some reason they were real tight on mine and i had a hard time the first time. On th ebacks the window swithc is screewed in from the back side so dont pry it up! Lata

What is the power output of your Head unit? What is the minimum power RMS for your new Infinitys? There may be a shortage of power. Also, are you using an amp to run your front stage? One more thing, check the polarity of your connections, positive to positive and such. You may have a phase problem.

Still running the facotry infinity stereo all i did was change the front door speakers. I haven't changed my 1" tweets there isn't any sound coming from them either.

So you hooked up a set of 3ways in the door and still have the factory tweeter in there as well? Put the 3 ways in the back door and use a set of components in the front.....

I want more highs so that's why i went with the 3 ways.

3 ways won't get you more highs.. they just give you more speakers to divide the speakers frequency range with. On top of that, "highs" is a directional frequency that doesn't do a good job of working it's way around obstacles (like the front passengers foot), and basically sounds it's best at the direction it's aimed at. Low in the door mounting would basically aim the tweeter towards the lower center console and away from you're ears. The factory location would allow you to aim the tweeter as you please to produce the best sound possible.

some head units also come with a soundstage feature that will let u raise or create the effect that the sound is coming from someplace higher, A aftermarket hu is ur best bet. Clay

I did a little research on the Infinity's you have, and it sounds as though the stock out put power is no where close to what those speakers need. I agree with Joel, run a set of power efficient seperates in the front doors to get more high range. I f all you need is sound volume rather than sound quality, try coaxials in the doors and in the dash and run one amp for the front stage. Or, if you really want to make those Infinitys rock, build some kick panel pods and put them in there. I still think the deck has got to go.

Anyone know where to find kick panel pods for a 2000 MS - Grey? I haven't been able to find them anywhere. Don't really know how to make my own.
