Got the MS dropped two inches the other day. 8-)Originally dropped it three but ran into issues with the rear bottoming out, so I went back to two. Mine is a 99 with rear leaf springs.
Used 2" blocks from Advance auto in the rear, comes with u-bolts too. Real simple process, loosened one side at a time, slipped the blocks between the springs and rear end, and buttoned it up with the new u-bolts. Oh, I cut the top half off the bumper stop too.
On the front, the adjustment for the torsion bars is on the rear of the bar, not the front under the skid plate. 4 wheel drive models may have a plate there too, but my 2-wheel drive did not. The adjustment is at the tranny crossmember. There is a long bolt there, I loosened the lock nut on the top of the bolt, holding the bolt with a socket, then held the second wider nut with a wrench while loosening (counter clockwise) the long bolt 14 complete turns. This brought the front down to meet the rear. I replaced the tall bump stops on the front with some small poly ones from Auto Zone. Will have pics as soon as I can get my puter straightened out. -Pat ;D

Cool, sounds like a ride developin.. The 4wd on the 98 LS is just like you said as far as torsion bars go. I raised my 4wd two inches that way from about six turns. I still have about 3/4inch to an inch of threads left before I completely lift it, but I want to go slow and steady with it. Awesome job and observation. Be safe, be prepared and keep flyin!

The ride is about the same- I do have a bottoming prob on bad bumps but not regularly. It was bad on the 3" drop, the 2" drop is better. I plan to help the springs with some overloaders so that should help too.

There is an "after" pic here: groups.msn.com/Moparites/homepageI haven't got all the pics uploaded yet, they show before and after, as well as the torsion bar bolt, the different bump stops, and what I had to cut off the rear bump stop. I'll try to get them all up soon.
