I have a 2000 LS 4wd and would like to add the newer style fender flares that extend down onto the front bumper. Mine currently stop at the front fender and are a textured flat-black color. They also are not sealed to the body with any kind of weatherstripping and thus there is a gap in some places and it looks cheap. Will the fender flares on the later models which do extend down onto the sides of the front bumper fit my 2000, and do these come in black? I would appreciate any help on this.

I dont know for sure but buy looking at the flares u are wanting i think the part that goes onto the bumper is just another pcs that is added to the bumper. Lice u had said u would have to buy new parts but it has to werk. there is no difference in the body on the different modles of sports so if u get the part they should go right on. U may have to modifly the front bumper to get it on. but nothing to nutty! the mitsu parts are kinda od cuz on the modles with that part they are mostly painted, so u never really know what color u would get when u order it. But ask your dealer and see if he can get it for ya in black. If not it dont tke much to have em all painted to match the truck and it looks real trick! Lata

It sounds like from talking with mitsubishi parts people that I would first need newer style front and rear bumpers because they have the hardware and pre-drilled holes to accept the newer sytle fender flares (I probably could rig it but it wouldn't look clean and factory). Plus, they are rediculously expensive. So I'll probably forget about it.

I would almost garantee there is the mark fo rthe hole in the bumper u have on the inside, Even tho they are different modles mitsu isnt going to make more than one bumper for it. I know from werking in body shops that many of the manufactures do this type of thing. And as long as u take your time and make it werx it will look just as good as factory! dont give up on it! Lata U say factery like its a good thing!
