I have an 97 montero sport with an 3.0 engine that has finally died (280,000 miles) after years of great service and I wanted to know if putting in an small block chevy engine was an feasible possibilty.

Thanks Lumute:
I seen the engine on ebay and that is an little steep for an engine with that many miles on it (98k for $1,725.00).
Be better off adding more cheese and going remanufactured for the sake of piece of mind and better warranty.
I've made contact with an engine builder in Atlanta who has caused much hype for modding out 3.0 engines.
If weather permit I plan on mee ;Dting with him on Tuesday Feb 1,
I will post details A.S.A.P

That is way steep for a 100k mile engine. Go with the SBC, I personally would like to know if it could be done.
